March 20, 2020 - Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus Update:

Given all the concerns regarding Covid-19 (or better known as the Coronavirus), we wanted to provide an update on new cases and when we may see a peak in cases and/or relief from a headline risk standpoint.

The following chart from the World Health Organization (WHO) depicts cumulative cases for a select number of countries. What is encouraging about this data is that we are beginning to see new cases flatten out in several countries such as China and South Korea. The trajectory of cases in the United States looks very similar to the early trajectory in both China and South Korea as indicated by the referenced chart. Furthermore, the United States has taken many of the same preventive measures to minimize the spread of the virus.

If the current trajectory of cases follows that of other countries in this chart, we could see cases peak in the United States in about 10 days or so which would be very encouraging.

We continue to monitor the situation closely both from a news flow and portfolio management perspective.

As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
